Kirby was placed over a background of a starry night sky hinting the new level could be from the Super Mario Galaxy series of games for the Wii. The first game came out in 2007 while part two was released in 2010.
Yesterday, Nintendo confirmed that long time character Princess Peach will be joining the new Smash Bros game for the Wii U and 3DS.
The leading lady in the Super Mario franchise will be making her return to the game and joining 14 other announced characters.
This is her third time in the series, appearing in all the games except the original in 1999 for the Nintendo 64. Other mainstays to the game include: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Pit.
New characters for the game include: the Villager from Animal Crossing, Wii Fit Trainer, Pikmin & Olimar from Pikmin and legendary video game character Mega Man.
The Mega Man announcement has been met with the joy of gamers everywhere as the "blue bomber" debuted in the '80s when he started out on the NES.
Super Smash Bros has become a Nintendo fan favorite for the company since its first release on the N64, followed by "Super Smash Bros. Melee" on Gamecube and "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" on the Wii.
This will be the first time the series comes to a handheld system.
