'Super Smash Bros.' Nintendo Switch News: Corrin Amiibo May Be Coming
"Super Smash Bros." has been Nintendo's shot at pitting its exclusive characters against each other, making it an instant sensation for fans of the brand. With rumors that the cross-game skirmish is coming to the Nintendo Switch, it looks like a new challenger may be introduced very soon.
According to a discussion in a NeoGAF thread, both male and female versions of Corrin amiibo for "Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia" may be making its way to the much-speculated Nintendo Switch title of the crossover fighting game. This immediately caught the attention of many gamers, saying the game is now in the big leagues.
It can be recalled on Nintendo's registry that it was hinting at four amiibo that will be coming, and there are reasons to believe that they are related to the "Super Smash Bros." title. If the assumptions are true, then it could be possible that the Corrin amiibo is one of them, although it is unclear if it will be the male or female version that will come through.
Mic has since speculated on which characters will be introduced in the upcoming crossover title. With Corrin likely arriving, Bayonetta from the same-titled game and Cloud from "Final Fantasy VII" are strong candidates. As for the fourth one, it may be an updated version of Link, given "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's" success, or it may be the other version of Corrin.
So far, this assumption is holding ground as the downloadable fighters for the game now include Bayonetta, Corrin and Cloud as is seen in the official website. With this being the trend for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, it's not farfetched that the rumored Switch version will follow suit.
"Super Smash Bros." for Nintendo Switch does not have a confirmed date yet, but fans will surely be keeping an eye out for it.
