'Super Smash Bros' Nintendo Switch Release Date: Game Not Coming Anytime Soon?
The wait for the "Super Smash Bros" for the Nintendo Switch continues and recent reports suggest it will go on a while.
Although Nintendo has yet to confirm a fifth entry to its hit crossover fighting game series, it is believed that the company will not pass on the chance to bring a new version to the fold especially since the Nintendo Switch is gaining more popularity.
However, the studio has already prepared a Mario game for the console this year and that is "Super Mario Odyssey. It is deemed its entry for this year in the franchise and there could only be room for one major title based on the famous character at least in the company's yearly lineup.
Add to that the release of heavyweights like "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Splatoon 2" this year, Nintendo knows that the Switch is having a big year.
Tech Radar believes that the gaming giant is saving "Super Smash Bros" for next year to beef up 2018. At the moment, only "Metroid Prime 4" has been confirmed for the console next year.
Recent leaks have suggested that the company has been working on "Super Smash Bros" so fans expect it is coming. Just last month, Nintendo fuelled speculations about the possible new installment when they used a "Super Smash Bros" tag on their Nintendo Direct on its Japanese YouTube channel.
Many expected that the game will be announced there, which clearly did not happen. However, the effort of the studio to remove the tag has many convinced that they may have revealed something that was supposed to be a secret.
Rumors about "Super Smash Bros" coming to the Nintendo Switch date back way before the console was launched. The franchise is so huge for the company that it will be a surprise if they would not bring it to the platform.
For now, however, everything is pure speculation. If "Super Smash Bros" is in the works for the Nintendo Switch, fans are likely going to hear official details about it next year.
