Superchick Delivers Christmas Cheer
Popular Christian band Superchick kicked off their "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" tour this month to distribute holiday cheer.
The tour, which commenced Dec. 6., is featuring special guest musicians KJ-52, Jimmy Needham, and Starlit Platoon.
Superchick will perform at churches and school auditoriums in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois, delivering Christmas classics as well as popular Superchick hits.
"Excitement is truly brewing for this tour, especially in this era when most Christmas tours are geared more toward the 'soccer mom' generation," says Scott Huie, president of H20 Artist Agency, which represents the band. "And believe me, this is not your mom and dad's Christmas show, but one that truly connects with the younger generation."
The band's bass player-vocalist, Matt Dally, described the tour as a Christmas event and not "churchy."
"Some people think they already know what a Christmas musical is, or might think of a church in a negative way," said Dally. "This is not churchy, but it's Christmas."
Superchick made its debut in 1999 at an Audio Adrenaline concert in front of an audience of 5,000. Since then, the band signed to Inpop Records and released three albums. Their music has appeared in several movies and television shows, including Legally Blonde and Disney's Ice Princess. The band's music has received favorable reviews in both Christian and mainstream publications.
