'Supergirl' Cast News, Update: 'Peter Pan' Actor Joins Show As Cat's Son
New casting updates for the upcoming superhero drama TV series from CBS, "Supergirl," surfaced this week indicating the involvement of a "Pan" star as one of the show's younger characters.
The report from TV Line said that Levi Miller, who plays the titular role in the soon-to-be-released 2015 fantasy film, has been cast in the CBS program as Cat Grant's (Calista Flockhart) son, Carter Grant.
As further revealed by the media outlet, the Australian actor will make his debut in the Melissa Benoist-starred series on its 4th episode. His character will be 12-years-old and is "sensitive and shy" and "couldn't be more different from his mom."
Benoist's character will even be surprised to know what her boss' son feels for her.
"Carter finally opens up to her — revealing his true feelings for Supergirl," the site wrote.
Executive producer Greg Berlanti, who collaborated with Miller on Pan, released the following statement:
"We loved working with him so much on Pan, we were excited to bring him into Supergirl's universe. He's an exceptional young actor and a part of the Berlanti Productions family. It will be fun for audiences, who we know will fall in love with him as Peter in Pan on Oct 9, to see his range with his turn as Calista Flockhart's American son."
TV Line further noted that Carter Grant is "independent of Adam Morgan" who is also Cat's son in the DC Comics.
The show, which takes flight on October 26 on CBS, is centered on Kara Zor-El (Benoist) who comes to Earth after escaping from the destruction of her and Superman's home planet, Krypton.
After years of hiding who she is and what she is capable of doing, she decided to come out and joins the ranks of her powerful cousin to become the superhero she always wanted to be.
