'Supergirl' Series News: Former WWE Wrestler to Challenge Girl of Steel
Former WWE wrestler Eve Torres Gracie is set to unleash her power moves once more, not on the WWE rink, though, as she has been cast to portray the super villain Maxima in the upcoming episode of "Supergirl" titled "Myriad," which airs on April 11.
As Gracie guest-stars on the show, it is expected that the show will even be more action-packed as she adds to the roster of villains that Melissa Benoist's Supergirl character faces off against.
"Kara must find a way to free her friends when Non and Indigo use mind control to turn National City's citizens into their own army on 'Supergirl," Monday, April 11," said the synopsis for the said upcoming episode.
Notably, the synopsis doesn't make mention of Maxima nor her involvement in the attacks launch by Non and Indigo. However, for DC comic book fans, it is not difficult to put two and two together as Maxima is known for her mind-control and psionic powers in its comic book incarnation. She belongs to the royal family from planet Almerac and found her way to Earth to find, well, a partner.
When DC rebooted the origins of all its characters, though, via the "New 52" a few years back, Maxima maintained her storyline. This time, however, instead of setting her eyes on Superman, she draws a bead on getting the attention of Supergirl.
Gracie's guesting on the "Myriad" episode of "Supergirl" is not the first time for her to showcase her acting chops. The former WWE wrestler has appeared in the movie "Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power" and on the "Matador" TV series. At present, she serves as an ambassador of the wrestling federation that she was once part of for five years.
"Myriad" will be "Supergirl's" prelude to its season finale episode, which airs on April 18. CBS is yet to announce its season renewal although it is already expected, given the show's popularity.
