'Supergirl' Series News: Show's 'The Flash' Crossover Episode Teaser Released
A slightly longer teaser of "Supergirl's" upcoming "World's Finest" episode is finally out, and avid fans of the Girl of Steel just can't contain their excitement for the upcoming episode, which will feature the crossover of another DC character from a different network, Grant Gustin's "The Flash."
"Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home," goes the synopsis of the "World's Finest" episode, which airs on March 28.
Since the crossover was announced two months ago, fans of both hit DC superhero series have already looked forward to the airing date of "World's Finest." Incidentally, the upcoming episode of the said series is one of the show's few remaining episodes before its first season run takes a bow on April 18. While it's true that "Supergirl" is yet to be renewed for its second season, it is almost certain that CBS will green light its season renewal, thanks to its popularity and success as displayed by its ratings figures.
Meanwhile, CW has already announced that "The Flash" will continue running, literally and figuratively, as it has been renewed for its third season along with two other DC superhero series on the network, "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow."
"The Flash's" crossover to "Supergirl" marks the first time for two rival networks to share characters. With this, fans can only speculate that more crossovers can happen, linking more DC series characters in different shows, especially those that are shown on CW. While there is no plan yet for "The Flash" to have a crossover to "Arrow" or vice versa, "Arrow's" Stephen Amell has said that he is sold to the idea. After all, his Oliver Queen, aka Arrow, character already crossed to "Legends of Tomorrow" via the "Star City 2046" episode, which aired last month.
