'Supernatural' Season 10 Premiere Date: October 7, 2014 Episode Will See Jensen Ackles Struggle With Demon Dean
"Supernatural" is an American television series which intially aired on The WB channel and was created by Eric Kripke. The series was renewed for a tenth season by The CW on Feb. 13 earlier this year and is expected to air on Oct. 7, at 9 p.m.
The first episode of the tenth season will be titled "Black." It looks like the season will be focusing Dean Winchester who has turned into a demon due to the influence of the Mark of Cain. Jensen Ackles who plays as the character has told during multiple interviews that he was having trouble transitioning from normal Dean into demon Dean for season 10.
Unlike Ackles, co-star Jared Padalecki who plays as Dean's brother Sam has already played different versions of his character. He [Padalecki] has had the experience of playing as soulless Sam, possessed Sam, as well as Sam with demon blood rampaging through his system. Ackles on the other hand is having difficulty portraying his character as a demon.
"It was very difficult because it was Dean but it wasn't Dean, and it was a twisted version of Dean. So, yes, to navigate that and to keep those lines somewhat clear in my mind was difficult. It's not something I've had to do before. So I struggled with it a little bit," Ackles said during the 2014 Vancouver Supernatural Convention.
Even when he admitted that he is having difficulty with his new characterization, Ackles assures fans that the demon Dean will be adding some excitement to the tenth season.
"It's fun because he ends up being too much for Crowley to handle, so to speak," said Ackles during one interview.
