'Supernatural' Season 11 Episode 2 Recap: Darkness Takes the Shape of an Infant, Sam's Condition Worsens
The second episode of "Supernatural" season 11 was just aired and as usual, it was nothing short of intense and hair-rising. The episode titled "Form and Void" picked up hours after the events from the season premiere.
Dean helped a police officer named Jenna get home safely, along with a newly orphaned baby named Amara. He brought them to Jenna's grandma's house and then left to help Sam deal with a town full of infected people. But what Jenna did not know is that she brought along with her a baby that was born with the Mark of Cain. While grandma wants to call a priest, Jenna called up Dean to help her out with the matter.
When Sam learned that Jenna needed Dean's help, he told him to go. But taking down zombie-like creatures alone wasn't as easy as he expected it to be. Sam got in trouble after being infected by the zombie-like creature and if he doesn't get treatment, he will become a zombie himself and die.
According to International Business Times, Amara was later found out to be an incarnation of Darkness herself and what's even creepier is that she "eats souls." This might have to be the most difficult challenge for the Winchesters in destroying Darkness because it take the shape of an adorable little baby.
When Dean arrived at Jenna's, he found Crowley sitting in grandma's living room. He then explained that he's there to work on the case of the mystery baby. Dean approached the baby and it stopped crying. He then remembered the time the Darkness woman in the premiere talked to him saying that they are now bound and will always help each other
Meanwhile, things have gotten worse for Sam as his condition continue to progress to death. EW detailed in a recap that he was determined to find a cure but instead, he meets Billie, a Reaper who told him that if Sam dies he will not go to heaven, hell or purgatory. He will just be thrown into the Empty. Sam does the unimaginable—he prayed and asked for hope.
