'Supernatural' Season 11 Episode 9 Spoilers: Midseason Finale Features Return of Lucifer

The American fantasy horror TV series "Supernatural" is about to air its mid-season finale episode and it's expected to be fiery and more thrilling than ever. According MNR Daily, season 11 episode 9 of the show will be titled "O Brother Where Art Thou."

The episode will be showing Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) trying to figure out a way to defeat The Darkness. The promo video released revealed that he will be asking God for the answer on how to fight the evil Darkness. Apparently, he is given the answer through a vision wherein he is back to the cage where Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) was held captive.

The upcoming episode will mark the return of the devil in the show. Enstars reported that it has been five years since Sam and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester placed Lucifer back in his box. But as it happens, the fallen angel has found himself a way to bring back his connection with his former vessel. The source noted that there's a possibility that Lucifer might not look the same anymore if the Winchester brothers decide to let him back out.

But Dean isn't on board with Sam's idea of putting himself on the line. He turns down his suggestion and comes up with another scheme to face The Darkness and defeat her without having the need to shake hands with the devil. Typical Sam will not listen though and will still push through with his plan while Dean is distracted, trying to figure out Amara's (Emily Swallow) hold on him.

Speaking of Amara, the embodiment of the Darkness has gone through another growth spurt. And things are going to go complicated as the promo video showed Amara planting a kiss on Dean, implying her tight hold on him.

Fans can catch "Supernatural" season 11 episode 9 which will air on Wednesday, 9 p.m. ET on CW.
