'Supernatural' Season 12 Episode 12: Men of Letters' Secret Plans for Mary To Be Revealed

Mary (Samantha Smith) is keeping a dark secret that involves the British Men of Letters in the upcoming episode of "Supernatural."

In the episode titled "Stuck in the Middle (With You)," the synopsis reveals that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) mother has been keeping in touch with the MOLs, but she does not want her sons to know. Mary is reportedly handling a case and she needs the boys' help as well as Castiel's (Misha Collins). What she will fail to reveal is that the secret organization is involved in the investigation as well. The truth will be exposed when Mary finds herself hoodwinked. Will the MOLs take advantage and use her to get Sam and Dean?

Mary has been steadily adjusting to her second life on Earth. It has been previously teased that season 12B would be about her embracing her life as a hunter again. It took a while for Mary to accept that her sons have followed in her footsteps. In the past few episodes, she has played a major role in freeing the boys from the hands of the Secret Service. She constantly worries about them, especially when Dean almost lost his memories because of a witch's spell.

The episode also marked the return of Rowena (Ruth Connell). She helped Sam and Castiel find an old witch family that held the key to Dean's predicament. Rowena decided to help the Winchesters because she had a personal agenda. She wanted to get her hands on an old book that the witch family possessed.

In an interview with TVLine, Connell talked about her character's plans for Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino). It was previously revealed that he had fathered a nephilim. When the devil used the president's body and had an affair with an aide, it bore fruit. Rowena personally came and sent Lucifer to the bottom of the ocean. Lucifer will eventually return and when he does, how will Rowena treat him?

"The Rowena/Lucifer situation, it's the most spurned you can ever be by a lover: them snapping [your] neck. Her dreams of Rowena and Lucifer being the Posh and Becks of the 21st century were shattered, and I don't think that's something, as a woman, you ever get over or forgive. So there's a lot of depth of hatred and loathing there, for sure," Connell said, according to TVLine.

"Supernatural" season 12 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
