'Supernatural' Season 13 Episode 3 Spoilers: Dean Hunts Down a Psychic-Eating Wraith

Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Jody (guest star Kim Rhodes) will hunt down a wraith in the upcoming episode of "Supernatural."

In the episode titled "Patience," the synopsis reveals that the elder of the Winchester brothers will receive a desperate call for help. Missouri (guest star Loretta Devine) will reach out to Dean to stop a wraith (guest star Jon Cor) from killing her granddaughter. The specter seems to have taken a liking for psychics and has been hunting them down ever since he killed Missouri's friend. Patience (guest star Clark Backo), the grandkid, has no idea that a killer ghost is coming after her.

Dean will team up with Jody with this case since Sam (Jared Padalecki) is on babysitting duty with Jack (Alexander Calvert). The brothers have agreed to keep a close watch on the nephilim since the boy still has no control over his powers. Sam has the difficult task of working with Jack, who is a ticking time bomb. Demons and other creatures seem to be gravitating towards him, making it more problematic for the Winchesters to guard him.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Padalecki said that his character could relate a lot with Jack's predicament. In season 4, Sam had his dark phase when all he drank was demon blood. If there is someone who can understand what the boy is going through, it would have to be Sam.

"Sam sees a lot of himself in this kid," Padalecki said. [This season] starts out and Sam's kind of lying to himself and maybe he doesn't even realize, 'I'm actually reaching out to this kid because I've been in those shoes where Dean thought I was a monster.' Sam was the kid who didn't really have his footing; he didn't really know his place."

"Supernatural" season 13 airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
