'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: Misha Collins' Castiel 'Plays A Big Role' In Finale
"Supernatural" returns to The CW on Tuesday with one last episode "King of the Damned" before the finale next week.
Although the ninth season of the television series is coming to a close, "Supernatural" has already been renewed for a 10th season on The CW. However, fans are wondering how much more of Misha Collins they can expect to see in the final two episodes of season nine, as well as into its 10th season. According to supervising producer Andrew Rabb, fans can hope to see more of Collins' beloved character, Castiel, very soon.
"He is part of the mythology as he has been in seasons past for us," Rabb told E! News. "He plays big in the last [few] episodes … As far as next season goes, look- we love Misha. Misha's awesome. I have a hard time imagining the show without him."

Though Castiel is now a fan favorite, it remains unknown if Collins has been promoted to a series regular. The actor previously discussed the initial reaction "Supernatural" viewers' had to his character.
"At first, people were wary of anybody coming in that might take attention away from Sam and Dean, but [now] it's like, 'All right, there's a little extra room,'" he said, according to AfterElton.com.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that the Winchester brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will join forces with Castiel in the season finale, resulting in "shocking consequences," according to show runner Jeremy Carver.
"All bets are off when Sam, Dean and Castiel take the fight to Metatron," he told E! News. "Uneasy alliances and brutal choices await ... all culminating in shocking consequences."
"Supernatural" airs on the CW Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST. The synopsis for this week's "King of the Damned" is as follows: "Abaddon demands that Crowley help her kill Sam and Dean. When he refuses, she reveals a shocking bargaining chip to change his mind. Meanwhile, Castiel captures one of Megatron's angels, and gets Sam and Dean to help him with the interrogation."
The season nine finale, "Stairway to Heaven," is set to air Tues. May 13.
