'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: Sam and Dean Settle Feud?
"Supernatural" season nine returns to the CW with a brand-new Misha Collins-directed episode on March 25 entitled "Mother's Little Helper."
Fans have been preparing for the special episode since the end of the season is drawing near and the fate of Sam and Dean Winchester hang in balance. Previously spoilers revealed the return of Grandpa Winchester, but "Mother's Little Helper" is sure to include plenty of other surprises as well.
The Collins-directed episode will see Sam on his own while the special installment flashes back to the late 1950's. The show will reveal what Winchester and a Knight of Hell were doing together, ensuring a surprise for audiences everywhere.
"Guess the cat is out of the bag," one of the television series' writers, Adam Glass, posted to Twitter once news of Winchester's return leaked online earlier this month. "What I wouldn't do to surprise you #Supernatural fans just once!"
Here is another trailer for "Mother's Little Helper."
The synopsis for this week's episode on TV Guide reads: "Sam visits a town where ordinary people are turning into violent murderers. His investigation reveals that the Men of the Letters came to the town in 1958. Meanwhile, Dean struggles with effects from the Mark of the Cain and is tested by Crowley."
"Supernatural" airs in CW Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST. Remaining episodes include April 22's "Alex Annie Alexiz Ann," April 29's "Bloodlines," May 6's "King of the Damned" and "Stairway to Heaven" airing on May 13.
Meanwhile, a spin-off series will be introduced during "Supernatural" during the episode entitled "Bloodlines." The episode will feature "Bloodlines" lead character Ennis Roth meeting Sam and Dean during a crucial point of his life, according to TV Guide. While the Winchester brothers try to find the paranormal force in Chicago, they pass their justice-seeking abilities to Ennis, described as a "wanna-be cop."
"It comes as no surprise that Sam [Jared Padalecki] is far more sympathetic to the wanna-be cop than his brother [Dean, portrayed by Jensen Ackles] when they run into Ennis working in Chicago."
