'Supernatural' Spinoff News: Yadira Guevara-Prip Joins 'Wayward Sisters' Cast as Series Regular

Yadira Guevara-Prip has landed a role in the upcoming "Supernatural" spinoff "Wayward Sisters."

Guevera-Prip will debut as Kaia Nieves on the 13th season of "Supernatural," according to reports. Her first episode will serve as the backdoor pilot for "Wayward Sisters," in which she will become a series regular.

"She lost her family at a young age. By the time she reached adulthood, she was on her own, completely disconnected from her roots, as she tried to understand a burgeoning gift," reads Kaia's character description. "Flinty, sarcastic, and profoundly haunted, Kaia is nevertheless strong and willful as hell — she's had to be to survive this long on her own."

"Wayward Sisters" features Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) as she trains a group of young women who have all been orphaned because of mysterious supernatural tragedies. Together, they will work to fight against sinister elements.

Guevara-Prip joins Clark Backo as Patience Turner, Briana Buckmaster as Sheriff Donna Hanscum, Loretta Devine as Missouri Moseley, Kathryn Newton as Claire Novak, and Katherine Ramdeen as Alex Jones.

Screen Rant speculates that Kaia will be discovered by "Supernatural's" Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). They eventually bring her to Jody, adding to her growing list of lodgers. Kaia's power to cross between different worlds is expected to be different from other humans in the "Supernatural" world since no one has ever displayed such ability before.

"Wayward Sisters" is not the first spinoff for "Supernatural," leading fans to doubt its chances of success. Some believe that without the Winchester brothers and Castiel (Misha Collins), any "Supernatural" spinoff cannot survive and get a full season order from the network. However, considering that a fan-favorite character like Jody is leading the new show, "Wayward Sisters" has a much greater chance of getting a series pickup than the aborted"Bloodlines" spinoff.
