Rick Perry's Presidential Plans Leaked
After much speculation, a member of Rick Perry's camp has revealed more concrete affirmation of the Texas governor's plans for the 2012 presidential election.
Real-estate executive Gene Powell, who was appointed to the University of Texas board of regents by Perry stated via an email acquired by The Fix, “We expect that announcement in a week to ten days."
He urges supporters to begin writing checks now, for a commencing fundraiser in San Antonio scheduled for September 1, pointing out that checks will be refunded if Perry decides not to run.

Much discussion has ensued over Perry as a possible top GOP contender in the race in Iowa, due to his continuing focus on the economy.
Perry's politically-themed speech at “The Response” prayer rally on Saturday continues to fuel hopes and expectations that Perry will run.
Many are expecting that the governor will announce his decision after the Ames Straw Poll, which will take place on Saturday, but others in Perry's camp state that his decision is not as concrete as the email claims.
Perry's senior political consultant David Carney stated in a response email that Powell's statement contains many inaccuracies and should not be taken seriously.
“While we are encouraged by this enthusiasm, we have not made the final decision, as even this email indicates,” he wrote. "And there are some other items in that email that are incorrect, but it just goes to demonstrate how excited some of our folks are.”
Supporters should also not be too hasty to send out checks due to the fact that any candidate, potential candidate or representative of a candidate who raises $5,000 at a minimum must establish a campaign committee within 15 days. Especially since Perry's camp has made clear that it prefers to refrain from any premature indications of a presidential run.
