Surface Pro 4 Tablet Price Drop News: Microsoft Offers Big Discounts on Laplet Ahead of Surface Pro 5's Purported Release

Microsoft is giving users the chance to own the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 without breaking the bank in an ongoing promotion for the tablet.

The Redmond giant is slashing $200 off the price tag on a couple of versions of the laplet. The unit with 4 GB random-access memory (RAM), 128 GB memory and Intel Core i5 processor will now be $799 instead of $999.

The higher-end Microsoft Surface Pro 4 model boasting 8 GB RAM and 256GB memory powered by the Intel Core i7 processor can now be purchased for only $1,299.

Microsoft has also decided to sell the entry-level Surface Pro 4 sans the Surface Pen. While the accessory is deemed integral to the experience, the company recognizes that not everyone digs or needs this addition.

The tech giant is now offering the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with 4 GB RAM, 128 GB memory and an Intel Core M3 processor without the Surface Pen bundle for $799, allowing customers to save $100. Those who need the accessory can simply purchase it separately for $60, which makes it a better deal either way.

Microsoft has been doing discount promotions on its Microsoft Surface Pro 4 line for a while, which leads many to believe that the software titan is prepping for the release of a new one.

Despite radio silence on their part, there have been a lot of talks in the rumor mills about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, which is expected to see the light of day soon.

Reports have it that the next-gen two-in-one device will be powered by the all-new and more powerful Intel Kaby Lake processor, which should give the machine longer battery life, breakneck processing power and overall better performance.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to rival Apple's iPad Pro 2, which is rumored to be released around spring. That being said, Microsoft might be close to unveiling their offering sooner rather than later.
