Swift Slams Tina Fey, Amy Poehler for Golden Globes Jab (VIDEO)
Taylor Swift has slammed Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for their comments about her love life during the Golden Globes last month. Fey and Poehler, the show's co-hosts, have both responded to the digs with a bit of humor.
"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated – a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way – that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," Swift said in an interview with "Vanity Fair."
Fey and Poehler made light of Swift's reputation for moving from one relationship to another, and writing about it, during the awards ceremony.
"Stay away from Michael J. Fox's son," Fey joked onstage, to much laughter from the audience. Swift had recently separated from Harry Styles, which was the set-up for the jab from Fey and Poehler.
"I'm dealing with a little bit of a chaotic media circus right now," Swift said. "But there's also a lesson in all this… in knowing that you can live your life in a way that you're proud of and people are still gonna take shots."
Swift also quoted Katie Couric, who once told her that there is "a special place in hell for women who don't help other women." The statement came as a surprise to Fey and Poehler, who have both responded to the accusations.
"I really don't know… If anyone was going to get mad, I thought it would be James Cameron. I did not see that one coming. It was a joke; it was meant to be lighthearted," Fey told Entertainment Tonight.
"Aw, I feel bad if she was upset," Poehler added. "I am a feminist and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell, but for other reasons… mostly boring tax stuff."
