'Switched at Birth' Season 5 Episode 8: Is Luca Cheating on Regina?
Regina (Constance Marie) thinks her boyfriend, Luca (Michael Galante), is cheating on her in the upcoming episode of "Switched at Birth."
In the episode titled "Left in Charge," the synopsis (according to TV Guide) reveals that Regina will see a suspicious text on Luca's phone. Thinking that he may be seeing other girls, she will ask for Kathryn's (Lea Thompson) help to see if her apprehension about him is correct. The pair will reportedly do some "old-school snooping." Will Luca realize that his girlfriend is keeping track of his movements?
During a January TVLine interview with executive producer Lizzy Weiss, she said that Regina's relationship with Luca is meant to be a reprieve after her toxic storyline with Eric (Terrell Tilford). She had no idea that her former boyfriend was a kidnapper. The fact that Luca is a lot younger than her was supposed to irk her daughters, but after the initial gut reaction, Daphne (Katie Leclerc) and Bay (Vanessa Marano) agreed that she deserved to be happy.
"We had such a serious story for Regina in Season 4 with Eric and his situation and backstory, and the way that he left and the kids. We just really wanted to lighten things up for her and be honest. If she rebounded, who would she rebound to? It would probably be something a lot less serious and fraught and intense than what she had with Eric," the EP told TVLine.
If Luca is indeed cheating on Regina, it will be interesting to see how she will handle the setback. Kathryn's support will hopefully make things easier for her since Regina cannot tell the girls about her problem. Both Daphne and Bay are already stressed about their finances. They are even planning to host a "lights on" party to earn money for their electric bills.
"Switched at Birth" season 5 episode 8 airs Tuesday, March 28 at 9 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
