Switchfoot 'Fading West' First Single, 'Love Alone is Worth the Fight' Debuts High on Billboard Charts
Switchfoot has released its first single, "Love Alone Is Worth The Fight," from upcoming album, Fading West, which is set to release Jan. 14, 2014.
The single was played on every Billboard Christian Hot AC/CHR reporting station in its debut week, which is the first time that has ever happened since the chart began in 2006.
At the No. 34, it marks the highest debut for Switchfoot on the National Christian Audience (NCA) chart.
Switchfoot recently released a three song EP to give a short preview of what their upcoming full length, Fading West will be like.
The Fading West EP will work alongside a documentary film and tour of the same name until the full album's release on January 14.
"We're beyond excited to announce that the Fading West EP is out and ready for your ears! While each of these three songs will also be on the full-length Fading West release out January 14th, we simply couldn't wait that long to share this part of our journey with you," the band said on their website.
They continued, "We'll be selling the physical version of the EP during the Fading West tour that starts on 9/20 (less than a week away!), and below are a few options to purchase the EP now. Because the EP is also acting as a pre-sale for the full-length, the physical option will give you a complete download of the Fading West album upon its release next year, and the iTunes version will give you the option to easily purchase the additional tracks."
A physical copy of the EP costs $9.99, and it includes a download code for the full album when it is released in a nice two for one deal. The physical EP also includes a B-Side track of the song "Fading West."
The iTunes version costs $2.97, and will come with the other three songs, "Love Alone is Worth the Fight," "Who We Are," and "BA 55."
Next, the band will debut the Fading West rock documentary. They said it will be showing during their tour and will be released online in December.
