Taliban deal, judicial confirmations, lampooning Democrats: 8 takeaways from Trump's CPAC speech
Taking out terrorist leaders
Trump boasted about his greenlighting the attacks on terrorist leaders, among them Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian Quds Force commander responsible for numerous terrorist attacks worldwide, and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, head of the Islamic State, which was known for its violent rule of territory in Syria and Iraq.
“They called [Soleimani] the father of the roadside bomb,” said Trump. “We took that son of a b**** out, didn’t we? Should have been done a long time ago.”
“And al-Baghdadi, he’s the father of ISIS and we have defeated ISIS in the Middle East. We have defeated 100 percent of the caliphate.”
