Tamar Braxton Receives Public Prayer From 'The Real' Co-Stars After Divorce Filing Confirmed
Tamar Braxton's departure from "The Real" talk show was less than amicable, but that isn't stopping her former friends and co-hosts from offering prayer amid reports of her divorcing her husband.
The 40-year-old Grammy nominated singer's representatives confirmed this week her divorce from her music executive husband of close to nine years, Vincent Herbert.
"At this time we can confirm Ms. Braxton has made an extremely difficult decision and has filed for divorce from Vincent Herbert. Collectively, their son Logan and his well-being during this extremely unfortunate process is most important," her rep told PEOPLE in a statement. "We ask that everyone respects her privacy during this incredibly difficult time. She appreciates everyone's love and prayers."
While Braxton was fired from "The Real" last year, her former friends and co-hosts Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, Adrienne Houghton and Tamera Mowry-Housley dedicated a portion of their Girl Talk segment to news surrounding her this week. Love acknowledged that they didn't all part on the best of terms, but let Braxton know that her former friends wished her the best.
"Tamar, I know that we've been through a lot on this show and I understand that but you know what? We truly wish you the best and we hope that you get through this," Love said on the show.
Mai is also divorcing her husband, Freddy Harteis of 10 years, and shared her prayers with Braxton as someone who relates to her current struggles.
"When I heard this news my heart really broke because I can only imagine what you guys are going through. For me I know that having love and support from solid friends and family means the world and it helps," Mai said on the show. "So we really pray that you have that."
Houghton and Mowry-Housley also let Braxton know they are praying for Braxton.
This week, a trailer for Braxton and Herbert's WE tv show "Tamar & Vince" appeared and hinted at marital woes by showing the singer removing her wedding ring. Season 5 of the show premieres Nov. 9 at 9 p.m. ET on WE tv.
