Tamar Braxton Responds To Soul Train Award Outfit Criticism
Tamar Braxton has comments for those criticizing her 2013 Soul Train Music awards outfit.
Braxton, the 36-year-old singer-songwriter, performed at the awards show in a risque outfit that had some questioning her choice on Twitter. The singer performed in a see-through black onesie that left little to the imagination.
A number of people took to the social networking website to speak out against Braxton's outfit. Many people believed that Braxton's one piece outfit took the focus away from her vocal abilities.
"That outfit @TamarBraxtonHer was wearing was not the right look need a new stylist real talk," one person tweeted. "You sounded amazing but looked a mess. Luv ya."
Another individual shared the same sentiments.
"#SoulTrainAwards what on earth was Tamar Braxton wearing," another person tweeted. "Not good, not #classy. Who dressed her? I love her songs tho."
After many spoke out against the fashion choice on Twitter, Braxton took to the social media website to defend herself.
"I'm NOT on the red carpet & if u like my performance & outfit thank u if not pray 4 me (SIC)," Braxton tweeted.
The singer received awards for the Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, Song of the Year for her hit single Love & War and the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter's Award. Still, the singer let it be known that her journey as an award winning singer has not been easy.
When accepting one of her awards, Braxton addressed the issue of her age.
"I just really wanna leave you guys this note. I never thought in my life, that I would be here," Braxton admitted at the award show. "And the only reason is that because I almost gave up on myself and I just wanna let you guys know. No matter what you wanna be, no matter who you wanna be, don't give up on you."
