Tamar Braxton Reveals Cause Of Breakdown

Tamar Braxton is ready to reveal the cause of a Las Vegas concert breakdown that went public and why it changed her as a performer.

Braxton, the 37-year-old singer co-stars in "The Real" talk show, "Braxton Family Values" and "Tamar & Vince," released her "Love & War" album last year and is currently headlining a tour. On top of her demanding work schedule, Braxton is also a mother to a 1-year-old and wife.

It could seem that her busy workload could cause anybody to have a breakdown, but that is not the reason the singer needed her husband to come onstage as she tearfully tried to get her voice back in Las Vegas last month.

"It had nothing to do with the workload. It had everything to do with the smoke. I can't even go to hookah bars with my friends," Tamar explained to HelloBeautiful.com. "The House of Blues had their smoke machine on, all day long. By the time I got to my 8-count honey, it was in my lungs and I was done."

Still, Braxton insisted she was changed by the experience.

"It didn't only impact me as a singer, but also as a person. It changed me a little bit because people look at being a celebrity as entitlement," Tamar told HelloBeautiful.com. "You're entitled to have nominations, to get into a party or whatever. When that happened in Vegas, I was humbled because not one person left."

Braxton took to Instagram last month to recount what happened when she got on stage and had a breakdown 15 minutes after stepping on stage at the House of Blues.

"I honestly couldn't remember a lyric (which is nothing new) a dance step (everynight) but…I never lost my MYSELF where my body took over my mind and left me helpless. I wanted to stay but I couldn't," she wrote on Instagram. "I wanted to drink water and catch my breath but I couldn't. I, Tamar, for the first time who has always been able to figure it out and work through ANYTHING simply couldn't do ANYTHING but gasp for air and ask for help!! I was powerless and heartbroken."
