Tamar Braxton Reveals Why She Hid Pregnancy
Tamar Braxton, the 36-year-old singer-songwriter and new mother recently revealed why she initially kept her pregnancy a secret from her fans.
Braxton and her music executive husband Vince Herbert had their first child, Logan Vincent Herbert, last June. The singer recently admitted that she was not quick to share the news about her pregnancy with her fans.
"I was the one who wanted to tell and Vince didn't. It was a situation where Logan wasn't planned," Braxton revealed to ABC Radio recently. "And it's almost like when you have fertility issues you're waiting for the shoe to drop. So Vince just wanted to wait as long as he could just to make sure everything was going to be OK and we were in the clear."
Braxton has been vocal about her new journey into motherhood lately. She revealed a lot about her son's personality in the ABC Radio interview.
"Motherhood is great. Logan is great. He's a great baby," Braxton said. "And he's nothing like his mother. He's not dramatic at all. He's very much like Vince -- very chill, relaxed, laid back."
Braxton revealed that her mother, Evelyn Braxton, thought her grandson was an advanced child.
"My mother tells me that Logan is pretty advanced. He's cooing a whole lot," she revealed. "He laughs. He listens … he's all in your conversation. Yeah, he's just a really good baby."
However, the singer admitted that motherhood did not come easy for her after her son Logan was born.
"I guess in a sense, I did feel unattached because I really really wanted to connect with him,"
Braxton admitted on "Good Morning America" previously. "I wanted to breastfeed and when he didn't latch on and I couldn't produce milk, I just felt like, 'Is this the wrong child? Am I the wrong mother?'"
Now, the new mother insists that her baby is nothing short of a blessing from God.
"When he finally latched on [while breastfeeding], I felt like, He got me and I got him and this was all meant to be," she said on GMA. "I am very happy. I feel complete. He is the best thing that ever happened to me."
