Tameka Foster on Son's Accident: 'I'm Angry It Happened on Usher's Watch'

Tameka Foster broke her silence about her son's accident at the home of her ex-husband, Usher. Foster admitted that she is angry the accident happened but still cares for her ex-husband.

She learned of her son, Usher V's, accident while she was at a dental appointment on August 5.

(Usher) doesn't call me regularly, so when I saw his number come up, I immediately jumped up. I figured he had the boys … I need to get this," Foster said on "Good Morning America."

The phone call brought back vivid memories of her other son's death at age 11. Kile Glover, 11, died when he was hit in the head by a jet ski. He perished as a result of his injuries and the loss was incredibly painful for Foster.

"It was like I relived it," Foster said. "My brain went into all those modes. I even said on the phone, 'I've had this call before.'"

Thankfully, Usher V was not seriously injured and after a few days in the hospital was released. Foster immediately filed for an emergency hearing to regain custody of the young boy as well as her other son, Naviyd. The judge ruled against her and stated that the boys would remain in the care of her ex-husband for the time being.

"I'd like to have my first right of refusal, which means when he is not present, the kids come home to their mom," Foster explained. "They don't stay home with the nanny and watch whatever show he's on. They come home to their mother."

Foster also said she was "angry" that the accident "happened on his watch. Because, while accidents happen, never have my children been injured on my watch."

No matter what, though, Foster said she still scares for Usher and does not wish him any ill-will. The two exchanged a sincere hug after the judge's ruling in court and presented a unified front for the children.

"He is the father of my children, and I love my kids more than life itself," Foster said.
