And if the first game of the series was any indication, then fans should expect many twists and turns on this battle as both try to advance towards the next round of the competition.
The first game was a thriller and both teams were highly competitive, with the Lightning looking to impress their home fans in the beginning of the game.
It eventually paid off as Nikita Kucherov scored the game's first goal at the 6:23 mark with assists from Tyler Johnson and Alex Killorn.
The early goal gave Tampa Bay the momentum and they were looking for another goal to extend the lead, but Detroit hung on and did everything they could to keep the deficit only to one goal.
When they successfully did that in the first period, the Red Wings found a way to bounce back in the second and it only took a little more than two minutes to level the score, with Mike Green scoring to put the game to 1-1, with Danny DeKeyser and Tomas Tatar linking up as well to produce the goal.
Less than two minutes later, Justin Abdelkader gave Detroit their first lead of the game with a shot that shifted the momentum over to the Red Wings' side.
However, Kucherov bounced back with his second goal of the night to tie the game at 2-2 to set up a thrilling third period.
Eventually, Killorn also added his name to the scoring tally for Tampa Bay with a goal at the 8:52 mark of the third period to give the Lightning the lead and eventually the win.
Now, look for Tampa Bay to get a 2-0 series lead with a win, while Detroit will also try to bounce back and get a big road victory.
