Tarek and Christina El Moussa News: 'Flip or Flop' Season 8's Fate Is Uncertain

The separation and on-going divorce of former couple and co-hosts Tarek and Christina El Moussa have taken a toll on their hit show "Flip or Flop" on HGTV. Now, it has been reported that the main title of the franchise might end in season 7.

As fans of the couple know, Tarek and Christina are on-screen partners as well for the said show where they purchase an old house and work together to rebuild and re-design it to subsequently put it on the market again.

According to InTouch magazine, a source told them that "Flip or Flop" season 7 is going to be the last installment for Tarek and Christina. However, HGTV will carry on with the franchise by producing spin-off titles featuring several other couples working in various cities in the United States.

To be exact, reports have it that there will be five "Flip or Flop" spin-offs to be situated in Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Texas.

When HGTV was asked about "Flip or Flop" season 8, another InTouch report shared the network's spokesperson said: "'Flip or Flop' still is in active production on Season 7 of the series. No additional new info to share beyond that statement."

Tarek and Christina's relationship became rocky last year. In December 2016, the former couple confirmed through a statement (via PEOPLE) that they have already separated, saying: "Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage. We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed."

The former couple's statement refers to an incident back in May 2016 when they reportedly got into an ugly fight and a very upset Tarek was seen going into the woods near their California home with a loaded gun.

A month after they confirmed their separation, Tarek filed for divorce from Christina.

With "Flip or Flop's" fate hanging by a thread, there are rumors that Tarek and Christina are separately scrambling to get their own shows. It is reported that Christina has been pitching ideas for a possible new show not just to HGTV but to other networks as well.
