Tatum O'Neal Rumors 'Not True' According to Publicist
Tatum O'Neal's publicist has stated the rumors about the U.S. actress returning to rehab to deal with a cocaine problem are false.
RadorOnline reported that a source claimed that Tatum O'Neal checked herself into a rehabilitation facility for her drug problem after rumors surfaced that she relapsed last month.
The source told RadarOnline that the 48-year-old voluntarily sought treatment for her addiction.

"Tatum made the decision to voluntarily check into rehab after having a relapse about a month ago when she began using cocaine again."
However, the source expressed concerns regarding the quality of care that is provided at the facility. "Tatum is doing really, really bad at the facility she is at."
The source explained that, "Tatum isn't at a 12-step based treatment program, and that is a huge problem because someone with Tatum's addiction needs to be at a rehab facility like Betty Ford or Cirque Lodge which adhere to the 12-step model."
"Tatum is essentially in denial about how bad her addiction is."
In a statement O'Neal's representative explained that due to her history of substance abuse, the actress is seeking help to manage her pain medication related to her ongoing back problems, The Inquisitr reported.
"Tatum O'Neal has had back issues, had back surgery and went to a place that could supervise her use of prescribed pain killers until the pain had subsided," O'Neal's representative said in a statement.
"She will always seek supervision when taking prescription medication that has addictive potential."
O'Neal, who is the daughter of actors Ryan O'Neal and Joanna Moore and the step-daughter of Farrah Fawcett, has not been candid about her drug use.
O'Neal published an autobiography in 2005 titled "A Paper Life," in which she states that she had been physically and emotionally abused by her father and was using drugs by the time she was 12.
