Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga Split: 'I've Begun to Cherish My Loneliness,' She Says
Taylor Kinney of "The Vampire Diaries" is single again, after reportedly separating from icon Lady Gaga. Why the split and what is next for the legend known as Gaga?
Gaga and Kinney are "on a break," a source told Us Weekly. "She will be touring nonstop until next year and has found she can't have relationship at the same time. There's just no room for anything else. Her work is all-consuming," the source revealed.
"The two most important things are her career and her immediate family. There's not much room for anything else, with the exception of her charity work," a different source told the Chicago Sun-Times.
The couple began dating in September 2011, after meeting during the filming of Gaga's "You and I" video. The pair didn't speak publicly about their relationship, choosing instead to simply remain in the spotlight and keep mum.
Another theory for the split, though, states that Gaga wanted "a bit more adoration" according to a source for the Chicago Sun-Times.
"After a while, I think she wanted a little more from him," the insider said.
It seems as if there is more to that particular theory, as the same source told Us Weekly, "Taylor was all about himself, a typical actor, and didn't completely get Gaga. She loved that she got this guy who everyone thought was hot! But it was never going to last."
Gaga recently appeared on "The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet" to discuss love and self-awareness. She purposely encourages her fans to wait until they are older to engage in sexual activity, when they are often more mature. Gaga has stated that she herself was unfamiliar with the concept of love until she was in her 20s but for her, work and music come first.
"Divorce is not an option for me," she told de Cadenet. "He's stuck with me and that's it." Though it seems that Kinney just wasn't the one this time around. But never fear, Gaga said that she has "begun to cherish her loneliness" and instead focuses on work.
She is preparing to go on a 110-stop tour on her "Born This Way Ball" world tour. Gaga is currently in Hong Kong and will next play in Japan, Taiwan and Singapore.
