Taylor Swift, Joe Alwyn Relationship News: Singer Shares Clues About Their Love Story in 'Reputation' Album
Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn's relationship has not been confirmed by either parties, but it seems that the singer has revealed much about their love story and how it all began in her latest album "Reputation," which has just officially been released.
Media outlets and Swifties believe that the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer dedicated several tracks to the British actor and references to him are peppered on majority of the songs.
Listening to her latest work and the fact that Swift has gone through great lengths to keep her relationship with Alwyn private, fans are convinced she wants this to last.
Swift gushes about his ocean blue eyes and how she wears him "like a necklace" in "Call It What You Want" because he knows her really well. In "Don't Blame Me," she calls him her "drug" that she will use "for the rest of her life."
She also talks how "I do bad things with you" and sings about their intimate connection in "Dress" and "So It Goes," which are deemed the sexier songs in the album.
In "Delicate," Swift hints that she met Alwyn at a time that her reputation was under attack, singing:
My reputation's never been worse / so you must like me for me.
"Gorgeous," on the other hand, is basically a love letter to her boyfriend as she described how she immediately fell head over heels for him.
In one line, Swift sings, "And I got a boyfriend, he's older than us." This has fans under the impression that she and Alwyn met around the time Swift and Tom Hiddleston's short-lived romance apparently began.
Meanwhile, "Delicate" also suggests that Swift questioned if it is "too soon to do this yet," but also adamant on having him all to herself, singing:
Do the girls back home touch you like I do? / Long night, with your hands up in my hair / Echoes of your footsteps on the stairs / Stay here, honey, I don't wanna share
While Swift is clearly smitten with Alwyn, according to People.com, fans who attended the secret sessions that the singer held while she was working on her album revealed that she tried to cut short whatever it is that is brewing between them, but he insisted they make it work.
Swift hints this in "Dancing with Our Hands Tied":
You said that there was nothin' in the world that could stop it / I had a bad feelin' / People started talkin', putting us through our paces / I knew there was no one in the world who could take it
Swift and Alwyn have been dating for a year, but unlike her relationships in the past, she is keen on keeping this away from the spotlight.
