Ed Sheeran Says Taylor Swift May Release Next Album During the Holidays

Since her debut in 2006, Taylor Swift has been known for releasing a full album once every two years. Most of the time, she drops her new album sometime in autumn. Since 2016, however, the popular singer has veered away from her usual production schedule and fans have barely heard of any update about her next album.

According to reports, Swift may be quiet these days but she has not really stopped producing music. In fact, she has been writing new songs for her fellow artists. She has also been reportedly expending her creative energies by contributing to Little Big Town's "Better Man."

There are also speculations that the singer might not have a new live show this year. The last time she performed live this 2017 was in February at a pre-Super Bowl gig in Texas. During her performance, she announced that she was only doing one show this year, and as far as she could tell, it was that particular show.

Meanwhile, some fans speculate that Swift might be busy preparing for her new album which will be released in October. Of her past studio albums, four out of five were released sometime in that month, and some fans believe that she might follow the same trend for her next album. Since most of her songs are about her personal relationships, there are speculations that her next album will be all about her recent romances with Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris.

Despite the lack of official updates about what Swift has been up to these days, her good friend Ed Sheeran recently alluded to the possibility that the female singer might have a big drop during the holidays. In his interview with BBC this month, Sheeran said, "Taylor isn't going to be releasing until probably the end of this year — Christmas is the smartest time to release because that's when everyone buys records."

As of now, there is still no official release date for Swift's next album so Sheeran's statement is the only thing that fans can hold on to.
