Taylor Swift Releases New Video to Rave Reviews
Taylor Swift has one of the top-selling tours in the country and gave her fans a glimpse of the show in her new music video "Sparks Fly," which premiered on Wednesday.
In “Sparks Fly,” Swift showcases the theatrical elements of her live show, complete with fireworks and ballerinas. The Christian Lamb directed music video shows Swift at various tour stops where she sings and interacts with her fans while surrounded by dancers and acrobats.
Both the music video and tour received rave reviews from critics. Rolling Stone seemed impressed with Swift’s latest visual release.
“The production values are astonishing, from the sets, costumes and fireworks on through the quality of the footage itself,” Rolling Stone wrote in a recent review of the video. “This video basically looks like the ideal fantasy version of what a big concert would look and feel like – all the thrills, and none of the weird hot dog smells and bad sight lines–and as such it's an amazing advertisement for the Taylor Swift live experience.”
Swift admitted to trying new things with her latest tour that the video was centered around.
"We get to have such groovy, cool stuff happening," Swift told MTV. "I've never had pyro before. I've never had aerialists before. It's got this grand staircase. The stage in itself looks like an old-world theater. I can't believe we get to play stadiums. I'm so excited about this tour. I want to live on that stage. "
The tour managed to take the top spot from Paul McCartney’s tour on TicketsNow Entertainment Index in July, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Aside from fans showing their support at her latest show, she recently received accolades for her work at the Teen Choice Awards show last Sunday. Swift took home the Ultimate Choice award of the night.
