'Dying Light' DLC News 2015: Techland Announces Large Update for Fans (VIDEO)
Techland has just released the trailer featuring the new DLC it will soon be launching for "Dying Light."
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's first person horror survival video game "Dying Light" will soon get a standalone expansion after Polish developer Techland announced a new DLC and released a trailer for "Dying Light: The Following."
The upcoming downloadable content with its brand new campaign is reported to be over 10 hours long. Completing the whole major expansion pack may even give players as much as 20 hours of gameplay, Videogamer.com writes.
The new DLC will feature a new map with a massive area that's said to be as large as all the other maps on the main game combined. It will also give a closer look at the dune buggy vehicles as they bounce their way across the Harran countryside.
The fully customizable rough road vehicle, referred to by Techland as the game's "deadliest weapon yet," comes with its own upgrade tree to give players who've maxed out their abilities more room to level up.
In the trailer, the hero Kyle Crane travels across the danger-packed outback where he encounters mysterious cultists who possess information about the zombie epidemic.
However, players cannot simply infiltrate the fanatical cultists to learn their secrets. Playing as Kyle Crane, they must first complete a number of missions and reach various objectives to acquire the group's trust.
The original open-world game, which received generally positive reviews from critics, has already sold five million units as of Aug. 13 since it launched at the beginning of the year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Techland's last count placed 4.5 million users currently playing the game.
While a release date for "Dying Light: The Following" has yet to be announced, it will be priced at $15, and will be included in the "Dying Light" DLC pass for $20.
