'Teen Mom 3' Official Trailer Released, Premiere Date Announced (VIDEO)
"Teen Mom 3" released its official trailer this week, and fans are already excited for a new show featuring four new teen moms and their babies. The show promises to be one of the most dramatic of the "Teen Mom" franchise.
The four girls starring on the new show are Mackenzie Douthit, Briana DeJesus, Katie Yeager, and Alexandria Sekella. Only two of the girls, Douthit and Yeager, are still with their baby's father, but the relationships have been rocky, to say the least. DeJesus' ex-boyfriend, and her daughter's father, can be seen in the trailer trying to be involved in his daughter's life.
All four girls originally appeared on "16 & Pregnant" but made the move to the "Teen Mom" series, which will follow their lives over the next few years. The shows have often been criticized for promoting teen pregnancy, but the show's creators have adamantly stated that they intend to show the reality of teen motherhood, which may include loneliness, failed relationships, and financial difficulty.
Each of the girls chosen to appear on a season of "Teen Mom" have unique situations and have become household names. There's no reason to think that this group of four will not fail to do the same.
Douthit and son Gannon live with her fiancée Josh McKee; she recently called off their wedding in order to finish cosmetology school and start working to provide for her family. DeJesus and daughter Nova live with her mother and sister, Brittany. As DeJsus says in the trailer, "Nova has three moms. What more could she want?"
Yeager and daughter Molli have been on their own, and she is trying to start a career in the entertainment industry. Sekella is raising daughter Arabella on her own, as Arabella's father is no longer in the picture.
"Teen Mom 3" premieres on August 26 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
