'Teen Mom 3' Star Briana DeJesus on Daughter's Father Devoin Austin: 'It Takes a Lot to be a Dad'

It's been a very rocky relationship for "Teen Mom 3" star Briana DeJesus, her family, and the father of her daughter, Devoin Austin. When fans last saw the show, it looked as if everyone was headed for a reconciliation, but in a new interview, DeJesus explained that things had soured and that Austin was not being the father their daughter needed.

"He's still a kid," DeJesus told In Touch. "He hasn't grown up. It will hit him one day. It will smack him. When he's 30 years old and he's laying down in bed and realizes, 'I missed all these years with my daughter,' that's going to be my revenge."

Austin was absent for the majority of daughter Nova's first year of life; DeJesus told him that if he was not ready to be a father, then he should just stay away, which he did. In the season finale of "Teen Mom 3," though, DeJesus invited Austin to their daughter's first birthday party and he seemingly stepped up to the plate and claimed he wanted to be involved in Nova's life.

However, during the "Teen Mom" reunion special, things got heated between the two and ended with Austin being escorted off-stage, away from DeJesus and her family.

"Don't get me started," she said when asked about the situation. "I really dislike him. I still dislike him to this day. I can't even look at him in his face because I'm so disgusted. I would rather him stay away and not stress me out than come around and cause issues that don't really need to be there. It takes a lot to be a dad. You can have sex with a girl and get her pregnant, but that doesn't really make you a father."

In order for Austin to actually be a part of Nova's life, DeJesus said, he would have to take parenting and anger management classes and stop doing drugs. It remains to be seen whether Austin will step up to the plate by the time "Teen Mom 3" begins filming for a second season.
