'Teen Mom' Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra Ready for a Child: 'We're Going to Be Great Parents'

"Teen Mom" stars Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra are trying to have a second child. The couple initially broke the news to fans on Twitter, then decided to talk more in-depth about their rationale for having a child now and how their lives have changed since putting daughter Carly up for adoption.

"I would've felt guilty if I got pregnant again when Carly was 1 or 2," Lowell told In Touch magazine. "But we've both been yearning for this. We're ready to have a baby!"

Lowell admitted that she stopped using birth control three months ago with the hope of getting pregnant soon. Even though the couple has had its ups and downs, Lowell and Baltierra remain committed to one another and their relationship, working through serious issues on "Couples Therapy" and continuing counseling for their relationship and adoption.

"I was too young when I got pregnant with Carly," Lowell admitted. "I was sad and scared. We learned from what our parents did wrong. Tyler and I own our own home, have two cars and actually have money to support a kid."

Lowell and Baltierra, who have been together since high school, and whose parents are married, showed their determination to live better lives during their time on "16 & Pregnant" and "Teen Mom." They made the decision to put daughter Carly up for adoption despite serious objections from Lowell's mother and Baltierra's father. The two held strong against their parents and successfully placed daughter Carly in a forever home. They still have contact with their daughter and her adoptive parents, thanks to an open-adoption agreement.

The couple also took in Lowell's younger sister, after her mother was no longer able to care for her. They went from being birth parents to adoptive parents in their own right, only it was a teenage girl instead of an infant.

"We have no doubt that raising a child will be hard," Lowell told In Touch, "but I know we're going to be really great parents."
