'Tekken 7: Fated Retribution' Leak Shows New Default Costumes, Confirmed by Bandai Namco
Someone posted in-game screenshots from Bandai Namco's upcoming fighting game "Tekken 7." The images showed some of the game's characters in their new default costumes and more.
On Thursday, Avoiding the Puddle spotted images from "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" from a Ruliweb thread. The photos provide gamers their first look at the title's new character select screen (above) and photos showing some characters wearing new costumes.
The Ruliweb thread has now been deleted, but their authenticity has been bolstered by Bandai Namco's newly released images. Shortly after the leak, the company posted a new set of photos showing off some new costumes for certain characters. These official images seem to be the same ones that can be seen in the screen select leak.
Five "Tekken 7" characters have new default costumes: Paul Phoenix, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Devil Jin, and Alisa Bosconovitch.
Paul Phoenix
The American Paul Phoenix is instantly recognizable, thanks to his iconic hairstyle and beard, only this time he is clad in leather with some patriotic accents. His new outfit could remind some fans of his costume from previous titles in the series.
Hwaorang
Unlike Phoenix, some fans may barely recognize the new Hwaorang. The South Korean fighter has ditched his old hairstyle for a black hair color with a red streak. He is also wearing an eye patch for some reason.
Steve Fox
Steve Fox looks basically the same, except for a new outfit. The new Fox is in full boxer's garb: new shorts and gloves, complete with a robe over his head.
Devil Jin
Similar to Phoenix and Fox, Devil Jin looks the same, except for the new outfit he's wearing.
Alisa Bosconovitch
The Russian fighter Alisa Bosconovitch has on a new dress.
Bandai Namco has scheduled location tests in Japan next week. However, the company has not announced "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution's" release date yet.
