Teresa Giudice Prison Update: Former Inmate Alleges Giudice Gets Special Treatment in Jail
Being a celebrity didn't help Teresa Giudice escape her 15-month prison sentence for bank fraud, but according to a former inmate, it has certainly helped the Bravo star receive special treatment behind bars.
According to a former Danbury inmate who spoke to Radar Online, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star has used her fame to get what she wants in Danbury prison since she turned herself in on Jan. 5.
"She's a diva, absolutely," said the source, who allegedly served time with Giudice and was recently released. "Just the way she got her job, that's definitely diva treatment."

According to the source, Giudice has one of the easiest jobs in jail.
"She wipes tables three days a week and it's maybe for 15 to 20 minutes a shift. She had that job before she came in, and that's hard to get. Why should she get that when people are outside shoveling snow?" the source said.
When it comes to getting food, the insider said that the Bravo star gets special treatment on that as well.
"She comes in very late and if the short line is closed her friend will go and get her a tray," the insider said. "You're not allowed to do that, but for Teresa you're allowed to do it."
Once, the source claimed, Giudice received chicken for lunch—a different meal than that of the other inmates, who reportedly got a bad beef dish.
Claims of special treatment extended to visiting time as well.
The source said that the prison set up an arts and crafts station for children visiting their mothers, and when Teresa's children Gia, 14, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 5 gave her a craft they made, the star was reportedly allowed to keep it, while the others were asked to throw away theirs.
"She brought a craft out from the visiting room and I thought one woman was going to lose it," revealed the source. "Other women will go in there, their kids will make them something and then they'll take it away from them. The guards let her do that."
Giudice is expected to be released from prison in February 2016.
