Terrelle Pryor Attempts to Appeal Suspension
Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders’ QB who is suspended for five games for issues stemming from NCAA violations at Ohio State University had a hearing on Thursday to appeal the suspension.
Drew Rosenhaus, agent for the rookie Raiders QB, said the meeting was productive, according to NFL.com. He expressed gratitude for the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and players’ union taking time to discuss the appeal.
The agent said he expected a ruling to be determined soon, NFL.com reported. After Pryor was chosen by the Raiders in the supplemental draft, he was suspended by Goodell on Aug. 22.

The rookie QB had entered into the draft upon the NCAA’s approval, after he was accused of breaking NCAA rules involving memorabilia for cash. According to CBS Sports, Pryor has little chance of lifting his suspension that will last until the week of Oct 10.
“Goodell has invested a great deal of effort, sweat and blood into this new initiative of not allowing college players to break the rules in college and then use the NFL as an escape vessel,” CBS Sports read. “You can agree or disagree with that but this is the NFL's plan. They won't allow players like Pryor a free pass into their league.”
Some football fans feel Pryor is being treated unfairly.
"Terelle Pryor got drafted by the driveway Raiders that’s enough punishment,” one user wrote on Twitter. “He doesn't deserve to get a 5 game suspension"
Since getting drafted to the team, Rosenhaus spoke about Pryor’s excitement about being part of the Raiders.
"The Raiders are a good fit for him because they have had an unsettled quarterback situation for a number of years and have worked in a number of different players,” Rosenhaus said, according to ESPN. “Any young quarterback would like the opportunity to go there and compete and be the guy."
When Pryor officially starts playing for the Raiders, he will contribute an average history of 2,722 yards and 27 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.
