Thanksgiving Message from the NCC
We give thanks . . .
for the privilege, and responsibility, of living in a democratic society.
for the rich variety of ways in which Christ's love is expressed through people of faith.
for the wisdom of friends who share our views, and the insights of friends who do not.
for abundance of material goods, and the mission to make them available to those in need.
for the nurture of the pulpit and the warm friendships of the pew.
for the transcendence of worship and the hard lessons of Scripture and scholarship.
for victories won and honest efforts lost in the struggle to be Christ's disciples here and now.
In the prayer that every day be a day of thanks to God, and of giving to the human family. . . . we give thanks today.
