'The 100' Season 4 Episode 3: Clarke's Search for Fallout Shelters Intensifies

The apocalypse is coming and the people of Arkadia are quickly giving up hope in the upcoming episode of "The 100."

In the episode titled "The Four Horsemen," the promo reveals that Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Bellamy (Bob Morley) are facing a huge hurdle. Some of the Sky People are showing signs of acute radiation sickness, which means their home base is the next to feel the aftereffects of the nuclear power plant melting down. In the clip, a woman is shown vomiting blood. Two months is all they have to find a fallout shelter that can protect them from the radiation. Clarke is in despair after seeing the Sky People collapse one by one, but what can she do? The hydro generator they all thought would save them was destroyed.

Last episode, Bellamy chose to free a bunch of prisoners instead of bringing home the generator intact. It was a difficult decision, but one he thought was for the best. Now that they are running out of options, he and Clarke will receive an interesting proposition from Jaha (Isaiah Washington). His suggestion is simple – find the fallout shelters now before it is too late. This means getting out of their home base, a dangerous mission because the people of Polis may attack them anytime. The teaser shows the trio looking at a path that will supposedly lead them to the shelters. Bellamy is having second thoughts, though. He warns Jaha that if he is wrong, they will see each other in hell.

Meanwhile, Bellamy is still being haunted by his decision. Others cannot help but blame him for their current predicament. He gets a lot of comfort from Clarke, though, since she knows he did it out of the goodness of his heart.

Showrunner Jason Rothenberg recently told TVLine to anticipate the dynamics between the two characters.

"Bellamy still feels weighed down by the guilt of a lot of decisions he's made, so he's trying to do what's right. He chooses to save lives in the moment ... which has been Clarke's M.O. all series long," the EP said, according to TVLine. He adds: "Clarke and Bellamy, in many ways, have always been the heart of this show. ...Once they learned how to work together, everything started to fall into place for them as a group in terms of their survival odds."

"The 100" season 4 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on the CW.
