'The Affair' Season 2 Episode 4 Spoilers: Court Order Splits Noah and Alison Apart?

In the upcoming episode of "The Affair" season 2, a new problem will take Noah (Dominic West) and Allison's (Ruth Wilson) relationship on the rocks, despite all their efforts to stay together in the past episodes.

The past episode saw Noah finally getting on his knees and proposing to the love of his life, Alison. However, things only get worse when Noah's daughter, Whitney (Julia Goldani Telles), enters the picture and sees her father's new flame wearing a diamond ring.

Noah might have forgotten that he is still a married man and his self-centeredness has left his four children, including pregnant Whitney, distressed over their parents' separation. According to the International Business Times, Whitney will spill the sad news to her mother, Helen (Maura Tierney), that Noah and Alison are engaged in Sunday's installment. It only gets worse as the newly engaged couple receive a court order stating Alison is barred from getting anywhere near Noah's children.

In the official teaser for episode 4, Alison and Noah meet up for a sweet lunch date, the broken-hearted father tells his fianceé about the court order. For the first time in a long time, Noah starts to think of his children's sake and tells Alison that they can't live together.

Meanwhile, Helen is wasting her life following her separation from Noah. The upcoming episode will largely be a turn in the person that Helen used to be: happily married, confident, and comfortable with her life. She will now be depicted as a drunkard, angry, and seemingly delusional.

As Helen continues to drive herself down, she gets arrested for reasons that are yet to be disclosed. One of the clips released for the upcoming episode shows her asking Noah, "Why do you get to f*$! up and I don't? Why are you doing this to us?"

It seems fate, morality, and life itself are teaching Noah and Alison that infidelity and living in freedom while others are in pain are not the proper ways to overcome obstacles in their relationship.

The fourth episode of "The Affair" season 2 airs on Sunday, Oct. 25 on Showtime.
