'The Affair' Season 4: Noah and Nina's Bad Blood Continues
Nina (Jennifer Esposito) will continue to be a pain in the neck for Noah (Dominic West) in the upcoming season of "The Affair."
The next installment of the Showtime series is expected to throw the spotlight on the Solloway siblings' relationship.
In a January interview with Parade, Esposito revealed that there is a lot more to her character than meets the eye. Nina has been portrayed as Noah's sister who has hated Helen (Maura Tierney) since day one. She has never forgiven her brother for marrying the other woman and is quite vocal about her displeasure whenever Helen is around.
According to Esposito, Nina's hate also includes her brother, whom she thinks is undependable and selfish. It appears that her resentment stems from way back. The Solloways had a terrible childhood, partly because their mother was always sick. It took its toll on both of them. Nina has somehow learned to cope with everything, but her experiences left her embittered.
"I think there's a level of acceptance that Nina has adapted into her life to save herself. I don't think she's particularly happy where she is, but she's in it and she has this life and she's going to take it and be responsible for it, unlike Noah, who she thinks has been irresponsible and self-centered. I think there's a lot more to Nina that we don't know," Esposito said in the Parade interview.
Fans of the series can expect to see more scuffles between the brother and sister in season 4. Nina will definitely have something to say about his relationship with Juliette (Irène Jacob). It also remains to be seen if Noah has truly forgotten Alison (Ruth Wilson) and how Nina will react to that.
Meanwhile, it has been recently reported that the series is moving production from New York to California. This is said to be due to California's new tax credit program.
"The Affair" season 4 is rumored to return late 2017.
