'The Affair' Season 4 Spoilers: Noah Takes In a Disturbed Ward

Noah (Dominic West) will take a troubled student under his wing in the upcoming season of "The Affair."

According to Deadline, one of the new faces to join the cast of the Showtime series is Christopher Meyer. "The Fosters" star is set to play the role of Anton Gatewood, Noah's student in high school. Though Anton is brilliant and smart, he is actually a disturbed teen. Unable to handle his parents' expectations of him, he is struggling to "find his own sense of self amid episodes of self-sabotage and doubt." He and Noah are expected to spend a lot of time together. Perhaps, the disgraced author will see helping Anton battle with his inner demons as an opportunity to redeem himself after all the bad decisions he has made in his life.

Speculations are rife that Noah's storyline for season 4 is going to be another roller coaster ride. In the last installment, he returned to the US without his French girlfriend, Juliette (Irène Jacob). Clues point out to the couple breaking up even though things were doing great for them while they were on vacation.

Although Noah has made peace with his daughter, Whitney (Julia Goldani Telles), he and Helen (Maura Tierney) are still in limbo. He cannot seem to decide if he wants her back or not. For her part, Helen looks happy with Vic (Omar Metwally). The two decided to get back together after she realized that there was no use pining for a man who does not want her.

Meanwhile, Noah's ex-fiancée will once again be tested by fate when she meets an interesting person. Alison (Ruth Wilson) spent a lot of her time in the last installment chasing after Cole (Joshua Jackson). She claimed she wanted their family to be complete once again. Cole's wife, Luisa (Catalina Sandino Moreno), was distraught, seeing how he was still in love with Alison.

Spoilers indicate that though Cole will choose Alison, she will end up breaking his heart all over again. It has been teased that she will meet an ex-Marine who will sweep her off her feet. Ben (to be played by Ramon Rodriguez) will reportedly pursue Alison until she forgets she ever wanted another chance with Cole.

"The Affair" is rumored to return in 2018 for its fourth season.
