'The American Bible Challenge' Back for Second Season
The Game Show Network has announced a new lineup of competitors for a second season of "The American Bible Challenge" on Monday.
Hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, the popular television series tests competitors on their knowledge of the Bible. The new contestants will have the chance to win money toward their favorite charity on the game show.
The second season of the original series will premiere Thursday, March 21 at 9 p.m. EST.
Season two's teams include the Rockin' Rabbis, Christian Wrestling Federation, Redeemed Rednecks and Sisters of Mary.
The second season of "The American Bible Challenge" will also see Grammy Award-winning Christian musician and producer Kirk Franklin as the musical co-host.
"The American Bible Challenge" features questions that celebrate the Bible's ever-present influence and significance in today's life and culture.
Furthermore, season two contestants will offer personal testimonies as well as familiarity with pop culture, and of course, working knowledge of the Bible. Each participant will share their compelling story and help raise money for a worthy charity as they compete based on their awareness of Scripture.
The tournament starts with 18 3-person teams- three teams in each of the first six episodes of the season. The winning teams from each of those six episodes advance to play in two semi-final games. During the final round, one team will be named champions of "The American Bible Challenge."
Meanwhile, the show's comedian host Foxworthy is best known for his hosting role on "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"
RelativelyREAL produces the show for GSN, with Tom Forman and Embassy Row's Michael Davis serving as executive producers.
