'The American Bible Challenge' Features Tim Tebow-Inspired Game

Following a successful first episode last week, "The American Bible Challenge" returned to the Game Show Network on Thursday and featured a new challenge named after New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow.

"The Eye of the Tebow" challenge required contestants to figure out which words were missing from different Bible verses, all of which were at some point referenced on Tebow's eye black when he played for the University of Florida.

Some humor was added when, instead of showing an image of Tebow during the challenge, an image of Jeff Foxworthy, the show's host, wearing football pads, a jersey and eye black was shown.

"You know, I never realized Tim Tebow was so good looking. He's always got that helmet on. That is a handsome man right there," said Foxworthy.

The popular new game show brought in 2.3 million viewers during its first broadcast, a record for the 17-year-old network.

"The best-selling book of all time is now GSN's most viewed program of all time, which proves that consumers are yearning for fun, family- friendly entertainment," said Amy Introcaso-Davis, executive vice president of programming and development for GSN, in a statement.

This week the network is also celebrating the show's widely used Facebook game and mobile app, which is available on the iPhone and iPad and features several levels of Bible trivia that get increasingly difficult as the user progresses. The app also contains a "Bible Study" feature which is powered by the American Bible Society and allows users to find out where they went wrong after giving an incorrect answer.

Although the show is only a week old, over one million rounds of the game have already been played by 150,000 users.

"We're excited to offer fans a fully interactive way to enjoy their own American Bible Challenge, and to share the experience with their friends on Facebook," said Stephen Croncota, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the network, in a statement.

"The American Bible Challenge" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on GSN .
