'The Ancient Magus' Bride' Episode 3 Spoilers: Chise, Elias to Face Their Biggest Challenge Yet in the Land of Dragons

As Chise Hatori continues to discover new sides to her master and potential future husband, Elias Ainsworth, her old memories also resurface on the Japanese romance-fantasy anime series, "Mahoutsukai no Yome" or "The Ancient Magus' Bride." Indeed, what lies on the other side when the door to Chise's memories is opened?

The previous episode introduced Chise as well as the audiences to two of Elias' acquaintances: the shop owner, Angelica Burley, and the village priest, Simon Cullum. But while her encounter with Angelica inadvertently caused her to manifest the wide extent of her powers, her subsequent encounter with Simon served to reveal an unexpectedly selfless side to her master and fiancé.

Memories of her mother seem to touch a rather bittersweet corner in Chise's heart, which in itself leaves a rather intriguing question hanging in the air: what kind of relationship has mother and daughter shared in the past?

Chise did tell her fiancé that she could remember being in a garden of poppies with her mother but followed this up with a memory of seeing the same woman die before her very eyes. These memories seem to be a source of such strong emotions, and could thus be manifested in a form of magic that can far surpass creating a burst of crystal poppies in Angelica's shop.

Could this be the reason behind a mysterious man suddenly snatching Chise right under Elias' nose in Iceland? Who could this man be and what role will he play in Elias and Chise's lives?

The preview for the next episode also hints at the possibility of Chise regaining her most significant memories. What consequences will this bring to both Master and Apprentice in the Land of Dragons?
