'The Bachelor' 2015 News: ABC to Hold Live Premiere, New Poster Featuring Chris Soules Released

ABC is changing it up for the season premiere of "The Bachelor" next year.

According to E! Online, not only will the season premiere be three hours long, but it will also be broadcast live when it airs on the first week of January. Live telecasts of "The Bachelor" are usually done during the "After the Final Rose" special which airs at the end of every season. This will be the first time in the franchise's 18-season history that a premiere will broadcast live.

Meanwhile, the network released a new promotional poster of "The Bachelor" on Tuesday. The poster features the chosen Bachelor, Chris Soules, sharply dressed in a tailored dark blue suit with a checkered blue tie and a matching pocket handkerchief. The show's production team gave a nod to Soules' farmer roots and had him leaning against the door of a rustic-looking barn. The image had the tagline, "Traditional. Classic. All-American."

Soules comes from Iowa and was a fan favorite during Andi Dorfman's season of "The Bachelorette." He finished in third place, but he won the hearts of many as fans rooted for Soules to be the next Bachelor.

According to previous reports, the competition came down to Soules and Arie Luydendyk Jr., but the producers ultimately chose the 32-year old farmer. Soules was announced as the new Bachelor on "Good Morning America' in August.

After the announcement on GMA, Soules said, "I mean, coming from a small town I never really expected to have this opportunity to be on either show let alone to be the lead on 'The Bachelor,' so it's been awesome."

"I am going to do my best and think I'll do well. I'm looking forward to it," he added.

The new season of "The Bachelor" will premiere on Jan. 5, 2015 on ABC.
