'The Bachelor' 2016 Spoilers: Is Ben Higgins' Mom a Factor in His Choice?
The adage "mother knows best" seems to have played an important role in determining the "The Bachelor's" season 20 winner. According to rumors, Ben Higgins' mother, Dianne Higgins, had a hand in her son's choice in whom to boot out from the reality dating show and to whom he should propose.
Life & Style reported that an insider from the reality show had disclosed "The Bachelor" star's decision was largely influenced by his mom after the two had a mother and son talk, wherein the older Higgins supposedly thought that another girl was a better fit for her son.
"He always thinks she knows best… He asks his mom for advice on everything," the source reportedly said.

According to Movie News Guide, it had been rumored that the final rose was offered to Lauren Bushnell, and not to Jojo Fletcher as claimed by other reports. Nonetheless, the website alleged that recent spoilers seem to suggest that Higgins really chose Fletcher as the one he proposed to, thanks to his mother's influence if the rumors are true.
Movie News Guide noted that there was even a past season of "The Bachelor" wherein the bachelor had a change of heart after initially offering the final rose to another girl. Only the finale episode can tell if "The Bachelor" history repeated itself on this ongoing season. It also added that majority of the couples created by the show ended up in break-ups.
Meanwhile, according to another Movie News Guide report, Higgins reportedly said that he does not expect viewers of the show to sympathize with him. For him, having the opportunity to be part of the show is the more important thing. He also added that expressing how much he cares about each woman on the show was no walk in the park as he needed to make sure that he was making the right decision.
"The Bachelor" season finale airs March 14 on ABC.
